Top 5 missed artists that died in 2016

Welcome back to my blog! Today i’m changing the pace of my blog by making it like a listicle. Today i’m going to talk about some great artists that the world lost in 2016, but will be forever remembered thanks to their amazing contributions to music. Also remember that this is my opinion, so no hard feelings if you’re favorite isn’t there. (lol)

In no specific order

1. Maurice White

Maurice White was known as the founder of Earth, Wind & Fire, he was the band’s songwriter, record producer and was the c0-lead singer. Earth, Wind & Fire also have the title of being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame like many of the others on this list.  I remember how much I used to listen to Earth, Wind & Fire during my adolescent years. The news of him passing was certainly a blow that hit me hard.

2. David Bowie

David Bowie the singer, songwriter and actor. He has way too many accolades under his belt to mention them all, so i’m just going to mention that he was one of the world’s best selling artists. On that list he was next to the greats such as the Beach Boys and The Who, which is great company to be with. He was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

3. Prince

Prince was a singer, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. Prince also joins David Bowie on the list for being one of the world’s best selling artists. At the age of 18 he was signed to Warner Bros. and at 19 he released the album Prince, which went platinum. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame on his first year of eligibility. Like David Bowie, he has just so many accolades, the list goes on and on.

Phife Dawg, also known as the ‘Five Foot Assassin’, one of the founding members of the musical group known as A Tribe Called Quest (ATCQ). So much great Hip-Hop came out of A Tribe Called Quest and inspired many rappers that came after. 5. George Michael

George Michael rose to fame as part of the musical duo known as Wham!. In his years with Wham! his popularity became widely known with songs like Last Christmas and such. Under his belt as a solo artist he has a great amount of accolades like many other list entrees. He was public about being a LGBT rights campaigner and HIV charity fundraiser.
